Welcome to Widow Tree

Widow Tree is a gentle, grounding space for widows and widowers to find connection, understanding, and hope.

Founded in Oxfordshire, our peer-led support network grew from a simple idea — that nobody should have to navigate grief alone. In the quiet after loss, many of us long for understanding, companionship, and a sense of belonging. Widow Tree was created to meet that need — to offer a place where stories can be shared, tears are welcome, and laughter slowly returns.

We believe healing happens in community — in the small, everyday moments of kindness that remind us we are still connected to life, to others, and to ourselves. Through local meet-ups, online gatherings, and creative seasonal projects, Widow Tree offers gentle opportunities to reconnect — with nature, with others, and with your own sense of purpose.

Our approach is simple and heartfelt. We are not counsellors or clinicians; we are people who have lived through loss and understand its language. Together, we hold space for one another — to listen, to share, and to rebuild, one conversation, one connection, and one small act of courage at a time.

Whether you join us in person, online, or quietly follow along from afar, know that you are part of something rooted in compassion and community.

You are not alone.

Our aim is to provide a calm, inclusive space where widows and widowers can connect, share experiences, and rediscover meaning, purpose, and hope after bereavement.

We believe that healing is not about “moving on” — it’s about moving forward with love, courage, and connection.

Compassion – We listen with kindness, empathy, and without judgment.

Connection – We believe healing happens in community and shared understanding.

Growth – We gently nurture hope, creativity, and new beginnings at your own pace.
